About Me
From my hometown to college, my love for English grew, leading me from law school to teaching.

I am a secondary English educator driven by a deep love for literature, learning, and meaningful student connection. I was raised primarily in Denver, Colorado, and graduated from O’Gorman Catholic High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After high school, I attended the University of Wyoming, where I spent my freshman year as a Division I cheerleader for the Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls—an experience that shaped my discipline, teamwork, and leadership.
I later transferred to the University of Colorado Boulder, graduating in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with distinction. During my time at CU Boulder, I served as President of Tau Sigma National Honor Society for Transfer Students, balanced two part-time jobs, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. These experiences strengthened my commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and perseverance.
Following graduation, I began a Juris Doctor program through the Syracuse University College of Law. After one semester, I made the intentional and courageous decision to step away from law school—recognizing that my true passion lies in literature, education, and student growth. Soon after, I accepted a position as a substitute teacher at my local high school. One day in an English classroom was all it took to confirm that teaching was my calling.
Within a week, I enrolled in the Teachers College at Western Governors University, where I am currently completing my degree. I have finished 34 units and am preparing for student teaching, with plans to graduate in April 2026. As I continue this journey, I am also preparing to welcome my first child this May—an experience that has further deepened my appreciation for education, mentorship, and lifelong learning.
I am passionate about creating classrooms that foster critical thinking, positive writing practices, and a genuine love of learning, and I look forward to building meaningful connections with students as they discover their voices and potential.
